Rena Cross, MS, LPC

  • Primarily I see adults and children who have experienced Trauma in their lives and struggle with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. I am trained in many therapies but primarily EMDR therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Mindfulness-Based Therapy. CBT looks at changing the way individuals think and how they react to these thoughts. With trauma, CBT helps to process and evaluate thoughts and feelings about the trauma. EMDR incorporates CBT with eye movements and other rhythmic bilateral stimulation. These motions help by ‘unfreezing’ traumatic memories, letting you then resolve issues as they surface.

  • As a therapist I am client-centered and holistic in my work. My first goal is to provide a safe setting for each person who comes into my office. Building a trusting relationship is always important to me so that we can work together to process through emotions. Being present and meeting my clients where they are at is incredibly important to me and to our therapeutic relationship. I believe each person has a story to tell, a journey they are on, and supporting them through that is a large step into feeling peace in their lives.

  • I enjoy working with children, adolescents and adults. I have training in Love and Logic Parenting, which I feel works incredibly well with both children and families. I work with children who have ADHD, ODD, Anxiety, Trauma and behavioral issues related to social settings, school, and home. I also work with adults who suffer from Anxiety, Depression and PTSD.

Please contact our office to see if I’m seeing new clients.
